Get ready to experience Bay Ridge High!

The Bay Ridge Musical is a fun, collaborative event for BRCA & BRPA kids of all ages to come together–and a treat for parents and friends to experience!

The show is put together from start to finish in about two weeks. Each child will be assigned to a group with a Mom Leader and a song. The Lead Mom for your group will set a couple of dates for practices to work on your song. Each group comes up with their own costumes (simple) and dance for their song: For the older kids – they pretty much do this by themselves with a Mom’s support for coordinating practice dates & sending out emails.

For the younger kids – our Lead Moms become amazing choreographers who treat kids to popsicles and get amazing results!

We get together as a full cast on Monday, July 6 at 5:00 & give the show its first run through. Dress rehearsal is Thursday, July 9 at 6:00. And then it is show time on Saturday, July 11 at 4:00 on the Boardwalk in front of the pool. Other than these 3 dates, a handful of practices are set by each group’s Mom. Don’t worry if you have to miss a practice or two – we seem to work magic with this musical!

The casting call is ON! We are looking for lots of Bay Ridge kids to play the parts of BASKETBALL PLAYERS, CHEERLEADERS, & HIGH SCHOOL KIDS. Join us by emailing BayRidgeMusical@mac.com or calling Robyn Zgorski Clifton 410-­991-­1333.

New this year... We are asking all cast members to purchase a Bay Ridge High pinney to wear for the finale. Once you register, you will be given a link to order your pinney and pay $15 by PayPal.

BRMOAAS: That’s the “Bay Ridge Musical Open Air Art Studio”! It will be held on Monday June 29th at 6:30 in the field next to the pool parking. We will be painting cheerleaders and basketball players to decorate our neighborhood and the set! All cast members are invited (but not required) to paint one for us! Just show up in old clothes as our paints are permanent!

This show is only possible because of a handful of Moms who choreograph dances, run practices, coordinate refreshments, and paint sets. Please let me know if you would like to volunteer to sweat with us this year!
