The BAY RIDGE CUP!

IMG_4028

WHO WILL TAKE HER HOME THIS YEAR?  This is no ordinary cup. This is a Bay Ridge Cup! Last year, the “Baby Boom” float took it home. (video source: Brandon Barniea). Masterminded by Meredith Van de Kamp, the float met the judging criteria as it celebrated the many (many!) little Bay Ridgers all around the same age in a fun theme. The bar is raised, folks! Let’s see what you’ve got this year! We can’t wait. Special thanks to the D’Camera group for the donation of this ceremonial cup.

STAY CLASSY, BR. We have no shortage of awesome, creative float ideas. Let’s be mindful that this isn’t about business promotion, and also that our most captive audience is made up of young children–so, let’s try and keep things patriotically-focused and wholesome.

Picnic

What’s more Bay Ridge Fourthy than hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken sandwiches, chips, soda & cold beer? Nothing, that’s what! After the parade, enjoy lunch and a frozen margarita starting at noon.

Bake Sale: Patriotic Cupcakes. Brownies. Cookies and more. Mmm. Don’t miss! If you would like to donate a baked good, please deliver to Jessie Rhines at 11 Decatur on the evening of July 3rd or at the bake sale booth.

Games: The celebration continues after the parade & lunch. Parents and kids are encouraged to participate in various races, classic egg toss, watermelon & pie eating contests and more!

Note for over-21 folks: Bring your ID! We’re going to try & quickly serve cold drinks and also ensure we’re abiding by the law.. just don’t forget an ID to the picnic!
