There is nothing not-great about this. Introducing the ‘Sign-Up Parties’.

Host a party with your friends. Raise money for the BRPA. That’s the basic gist of the “Sign Up Party” concept. What’s not to love, right?

Be a host or a guest–pick your fancy! Here’s how it works:

Host a party. Grab your friends, come up with a fun theme and host a party. This can happen at your home, outdoors or anywhere local–at any time throughout the year. Take the Jaegers & Callaghans, for example, hosting a fully-loaded cornhole tournament at the Marina. Or the Snowdon & Hoder families are hosting a sushi making party led by a chef who teaches classes at Le Culinarie in Washington, DC.  The McLaughlins, Smits & Hillers will host an early summer Dive In Movie Night at the pool, complete with large movie screen, popcorn, snowcones and a laser show at the end of the movie…you get the idea.

Hosts supply the location, the goodies (food, beverages, etc) and determine a maximum number of guests for each event.  The auction committee will set a price for the sign up party (e.g. $25 per person, $30 per family, etc. depending on the event ).  All proceeds from the Sign Up parties go to BRPA for pool refurbishing.

Casual, fancy, kids, no kids–bring your ideas & help us reach our goal. (Some idea-starters are below for reference.) To participate or ask any questions, email Mary Snowdon: mlsnowdon@gmail.com. Deadline is MARCH 20!

Attend a party. While at the Down By The Bay event on 3/28, check out the Sign-Up Party table. Here–you can sign up to attend any of these awesome gatherings! Grab your friends and go together. Each party will have a per-person fee–all proceeds again go to the BPRA renovation fundraising effort.

Details are all forthcoming. But most importantly–first and foremost–we want to see you at the event! Buy your tickets now! Tickets will not be for sale at the door.
